Hey!!!

In the year 1665, Robert Hooke discovered the cells. He discovered a dead cork cell.
Later, in 1674, Leeuwenhoek discovered living cells.
Robert Brown in 1831 discovered the nucleus of a cell.
Then, Purkinje in 1839 coined the term protoplasm for the living fluid in the cell.

The cell theory, i.e. all plants and animals are made of cells and it is the basic unit of life was presented by Schleiden in 1838 and Schwann in 1839. It was further expanded by Virchow in 1885. He said that all cells arises from the pre existing cells.

Formally established by Theodor Schleider and Matthias Schwann in 1839, cell theory (or cell doctrine) is the most basic tenet underlying the field of biology. Modern cell theory states that

The cell is the structural and functional unit of all living things.
All organisms are composed of one or more cells.
New cells come from pre-existing cells; lifeforms today have descended in unbroken continuity from the first primitive cells that arose on earth more than 3.5 billion years ago.
Hereditary information passes from parent cell to child cell.
All cells have the same basic chemical structure.
The fundamental biochemical reactions of life take place within cells
