AMANDA!

This is a poem written by Robert Klein which describes child's feeling especially teenagers about how they feel when they're over controlled by their parents and continuously get nagged by others.

In this poem, there are two characters. One is a girl named Amanda who's about 13-14 years always get lost in her own thoughts and the other one is her guardian. It may be her mother, father or teacher.

This poem is all about how she's being watched by her parents all the time and in the contrary she's in different worlds imagining herself as a mermaid, orphan and Rapunzel.

The central idea of the poem is that how a child struggles when there parents over control them. What's it like to have no freedom and all.. The poet wants to convey the message that we all love freedom and there shouldn't be someone snatching away our all freedom. Children must be given freedom according to their ages. We all need a little privacy.

Moreover, a child learns more when he's been let free. Because now he's the only one to care about himself. He learns his responsibility only when he has the freedom. If we don't let children to have freedom, then how will they use their own brains? People just blame kids for not using their brain but they don't realise that they're the one who didn't let that kid to use his brain since our parents always try to nag us, control us.

In the end, just want to say that freedom is necessary. And every child must get freedom according to their age. We'll have different thoughts and we've right to think differently :)
