in chromatography we have to take a strip of filter paper and mark a line in the end of the filter paper drop an ink drop by using a marker and then attach a glass rod in the filter paper in the last put the filter paper in a beaker contains water.
important point > water has to touch the point of the filter paper
when u put the filter paper in the beaker keep it undisturbed for 1 to 2 days you will see that colours present in the in will distributed in different colours.
