Centripetal force is a force that acts on a body moving in a circular path and is directed towards the centre around which the body is moving.

here is yr ans

the force that is necessary to keep an object moving in a curved path and that is directed inward toward the center of rotation a string on the end of which a stone is whirled about exerts centripetal force on the stone

ex=the friction of the tires of a car making a turn similarly provides centripetal force on the car.
