Chromatin is the loose dense network of uncoiled chromosomes present in the nucleus of the cell. This is clearly visible in the interphase during cell division. It contains DNA, RNA and proteins. The proteins which are associated with DNA can be histone proteins and non-histone proteins. During cell division chromatin condenses and forms coils which are densely packed to form rod like structures called as chromosomes.
