Hey there!

=>> Chromosomes are the thread like structures which carry the genetic material. These are present inside the nucleus in both plant and animal cell. Chromosomes are formed by the condensing and tight coiling of chromatin fibres. A fixed number of chromosomes appear in cells of each species. A chromosomes consists of two equal halves known as chromatids. These chromatids are joined with each other at a point known as centromere. The centromere appear as narrow region called primary constriction of chromosomes. The chromosomes bear the hereditary units known as genes. In humans there are 23 pairs of chromosomes. These chromosomes are visible in M phase of nuclear division.

Hope it helped!☺️

Chromosomes are thread-like structures in which DNA is tightly packaged within the nucleus. DNA is coiled around proteins called histones, which provide the structural support.
