at some places in the body, such as in the lining of the trachea, the columnar is ciliated.
the cells of ciliated epithelium have thread-like projections called cilia, at their free ends.

The cilia constantly keep lashing and move the materials which enter these regions.

HOPE THIS HELPS!

Ciliated epithelium is a special type of columnar epithelium which has protoplasmic projections at its free ends.
Location mainly in the lining of the trachae.
It helps in the passage of any particle that enters in the trachae by swaying the cilia which helps in moving the particles in the opposite direction.
