☛ A Butterfly or a moth Lays eggs In a leaf. These Eggs hatch into Small Caterpillars or larvas. Larvas Continuously feed on The leaves [ especially Mulberry leaves ]. After that, They grow up little fat and Plumpy. At this time, They spun a thread around their body for protection. This spun thread is nothing but cocoon which is made up of silk. Thus we can consider that, At the stage of Pupa, the larvae produces a thread from its sticky saliva which is Cocoon.

☛ Cocoon is made up of Pure silk. Now a days, Silk are in fashion. Thus to obtain silk from these cocoons, the larvae inside them are being killed.
