Collagen is a proteins found in collagen fibres(white fibres). They are present in maximum quantity in vertebrates. They are wavy and tough fibres, always arranged in bundle, called fascia. On boiling they convert into gelatin and are digestible by pepsin enzyme. The collagens in the human body are strong and flexible, and provide support, strength and elasticity to skin. They are found mostly in white fibrous connective tissues like tendons, pericardium, periosteum, duramatter etc
