a colloidal solution is a type of solution in which the size of solute particles is intermediate between those in true solution and those in suspension.
in a colloidal solution, the particles are big enough to scatter light.

properties of colloids-

a colloid appears to be homogeneous but actually it os heterogeneous.

the size of particles on a colloid is bigger than that of in true solution but are small in a suspension.

the size of most of the colloid cannot be seen even though a microscope.
