The great European countries which were a lot prospered due to industrialization wanted new markets, raw materials, people to work under them, they wanted benefits with low investments. So they used to occupy the places and bring them under their control And they made that place as their colony. This is to be known as colonization.
1. There were two kinds of impacts of this on the Indian peasantry.
2. The farmers had to grow a lot of varies of crops which they never grew before, this gave them a knowledge of what to do and how to do.
3. They got new buyers from different parts of the world, which most probably could give them benefit.
4. But indeed they didn't get any benefit as the colonizers were buying those raw materials for a little bit less cost.
5. The colonizers used to export the raw materials they bought to their country and there they used to make the final product.
6. They sold the finished product in the different colonial country for high price.
7. Farmers had to pay a lot taxes for the land and even their produce
8. Farmers often fell into debts as they could not pay the taxes they lent money from moneylender or zamindar.
9. They had miserable condition, few farmers were also exported to other countries.
10. Even in the drought or Flood situation, when they didn't have a good yield they had to pay taxes.
