A computer is an electronic device that can perform complex and long computations very quickly. A computer contains a processor chip that performs computations on the data stored in a memory device. Computer inputs data and programs from a storage device called Hard disk. The results of the computations are also stored on the hard disk.  The processor in the computer performs arithmetic and logic operations according to a set of instructions called a program. The programs and the data are called software.

MSDOS is the MicroSoft Disk  Operating System. It is the operating system that loads itself into memory of the computer.  It controls the memory, hard disk, keyboard, screen, mouse, printer and communication devices. It makes these accessible to users in a friendly way.  MSDOS was written to manage the first version of Personal Computers from Intel.  It was written for Intel 8086 Microprocessor. It was a single user operating system.
