Conservation of momentum is defined as the momentum neither be created nor be destroyed it can (conserved ) change one form to another .
Initial momentum if
pi = M1 V1
if these momentum change in to another form that is kinetic energy
pf = M1V2^2/2
so
M1V1 = M2V2 ^2/2
so momentum is conservative in nature

What is conservation of momentum?
It states that the momentum of a system is constant if there are no external forces acting on the system.
N0TE: If the momentum lost by one object is gained by another object, then the total momentum is constant.
