CAD is a record of "debates & proceedings" that had taken place for about 165 days for a period of three years starting from 9th December 1946 till 24th January 1950. CADs are a text of the Constituent Assembly of India. The 12-volume debates are an important roadmap for the method of writing the 1950 Indian Constitution.

Explanation:

  • On 26th November 1949, the Indian Constitution was ratified by the Constituent Assembly. For three years, the Indian Constitution after it was drafted by the Constituent assembly,  was debated and the product of deliberations of the Assembly for those 3 years was our Indian Constitution
  • The proceedings of the constituent assembly were held to address the reasoning behind each clause of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's draft constitution.
  • These consultations led to the amendment of the rules of the proposed Constitution. More than 2000 amendments to the proposed constitution had been made during these discussions.
