Explanation:

Contour ploughing

Ploughing or planting across a contour or slope usually used in high steep areas. It helps in soil and water conservation. It helps decrease the velocity of runoff and builds barrier to decrease rainwater run-off by creating furrows in zig zag patterns and ridges. Ploughing is done perpendicular to the slope.

Terrace farming

It is the practice of creating stepped terraces and creates level ridges on a sloping surface. Here, the sloping land is converted into small flat levels and soil is retained by constructing small walls of earth, stones or concrete. It helps in reducing water runoff.

Shelter belts

Rows of trees or shrubs that are planted along fence lines. They help protect animals or crops from cold winds and also provide shade in hot sun. It provides shelter from winds thus known as shelter belts.
