⚡Corolla is the second axillary whorl which is composed of petals. Usually petals are brightly coloured because of the presence of water soluble anthocyanin and anthoxanthin pigment or water insoluble pigment the carotenoids contained in the chromoplasts.
⚡The bright colour of the petals, the scent of essential oils present in some flowers and the nectar secretion of special glands make the flowers attractive to insect which act as agent for pollination.Corolla may be regular or irregular. Corolla may be caducous or deciduous.
