Hey buddy,
corrosion:- it is a electrochemical process in which the surface of a metal is oxidised to its oxide in the presence of atmospheric oxygen or moisture. when metal comes in contact with atmosphere oxygen, we can say that it is corroded.
we can prevent corrosion by applying paint on metals. we can apply zinc coating. when iron, in the presence of air and water forms iron (III) oxide, it is called rusting of iron.
4Fe + 3O2 + 2H2O----> 2FeO3 . H2O..

Hey There, Good Question! ☺
Corrosion :
When a metal is attacked by substances around it such as moisture, acids, etc., it is said to corrode and this process is called corrosion.
Examples :
Iron : corrodes in presence of Oxygen & moisture to form a reddish brown coating over it. Corrosion of Iron is known as rusting.
Copper : corrodes in the presence of CO₂ & moisture to form a green coating over it.
Silver : corrodes upon reacting with Hydrogen Sulphide in air forming a black coating of Silver Sulphide over it.
