Corrosion :-

The eating up or destroyation of metals by the action of natural or artificial agencies like water, air ( oxygen), heat , acid etc. is called Corrosion or simply corrosion of metals.

If any metals are kept in an open space and the following agencies are allowed to act on it , the following metals will be destroyed in few days.

For e.g.-- Corrosion of iron doors, metal tins , metal bridges, etc.

Corrosion are of generally two types:-

• Rust
• Rancidity
