The process in which atmospheric pressure and gases slowly eat away the surface of metals is known as corrosion.

Metals which are less reactive in reactivity series do not corrode easily.

Examples are - Gold (Au) , Silver (Ag)

Platinum (Pt) e t.c.

Answer:

Corrosion is the process of slow conversion of

metal into their undesirable compound due to their

reaction with oxygen , water , acids , gases ,etc.present

in the environment is called corrosion.

e.g. rusting of iron is the common example of corrosion.

The most stable metals those which do not lose

electrons easily such as "gold"and "platinum" do not

corrode easily.

I hope it will better understand you.
