covalent compounds are the compounds which are formed by mutual sharing of the electrons between the elements for example H2O is covalent compound means water:
hydrogen have 1 electron each and oxygen have 6 electrons in its outermost shell .so as to become stable they both share electrons each hydrogen complete it's duplet by sharing one electron and oxygen complete it's octet by sharing 2 electrons
