main differentiation for living thing and nonliving things that living things are alive and non-living things are not alive and living things can perform motion even plants also perform motion like giving response to stimulus like air, water ,sun, touch etc. For example:Mimosa pudica (touch me not) give response to touch it's leaves droop down when touched. But non living things are motion less. They need a living thing to move them. They are depended on living objects to move one place to another.
