Hey mate!
I am here with your answer!
In the world of Android, you'll often hear people talking about “Custom ROMs”. The term ROM, which stands for Read Only Memory and really has very little to do with what a custom Android ROM actually is, can be confusing. A custom Android ROM refers to a phone's firmware, based on Google's Android platform.
Custom ROMs are no exception to this. Yes, a ROM author could put spyware, a backdoor, or just about anything else they wanted into a ROM if they wanted to maliciously exploit it. Any OS is intended to be safe, but all of that goes out the window when you run a ROM that's not pure AOSP.
Hope this will help you!
