a cyclone is an area of low pressure in which the winds blowing in an anti clockwise direction in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere. The pressure in the central part of a cyclone is very low and the wind from all around rushes towards the centre. The air rises rapidly in the zone of low pressure thereby producing a spiraling circulation . Cyclones are circular or oval in shape and on weather maps they are indicated by closely spaced circular or oval closed isobars . Cyclones are associated with turbulant weather conditions with high velocity winds , cloudiness and rainfall.
