DBE in chemistry can either stand for Dibasic Ether or Double Bond Equivalent.

DBE also known as level of unsaturation is the presence of level of unsaturation in an organic molecule. Presence of unsaturation means presence of a double bond or a ring structure. Presence of a triple bond in an organic molecule is counted as DBE level equals to 2. Oxygen is not counted.

For example, Benzene has 3 double bonds and one ring structure which means DBE in Benzene is 4.
