Hi friend !!

Here's the answer !!

Decentralisation of power refers to the division of power from Central government to State government

In terms of political science, it refers to the division of power from the higher level of Government to the Lower level of the government.

In India it was carried out in 1993 through the means of law by the Indian Parliament. The law stated that:

The powers of the Central government will be divided and given to the State government. The powers can also be divided and given to Panchayat Government in some states with higher linguistic differences.

The law also stated that the State and Panchayat Government are independent of the powers and influence of the Central Government.

Elections are to be held for the local governments also.

Hence this is the definition and explantion of Decentralisation of power.

Hope my answer helped !!

Cheers !!

★ Hi , there !!★

decentralization of power means when the power of Central government is given in to the hand of a state or local government is known as decentralization of power.

after the year 1992 India has taken the several steps for decentralization.

about one-third seats are reserved for women.

Central Government support to the local government financially.

election are held on the regular basis within 5 year by the election commission.

need of decentralization :-

as we know that India is a vast country.
there is lot of problem like maintenance of water facility , electricity etc

so in simple way the central government cannot go and see and solve the problem of people living in particular area.

for example :-
if you live in a particular village then Central Government doesn't come to solve your problem of electricity or water.

so, to solve the problem of particular area there is requirement of third tier of government that is local self government.

why local self government important :-

local self government is important because it solve the problem of water as well as electricity and many more.

it also resolve the conflict between peoples .

so simply,
local self government is necessary for running the country in proper manner and decentralization is necessary for it .

decentralization provide a way to use the power and help in maintaining particular area or place.

hope it helps you !!

thanks !!
