Heya,

Decomposition reaction is a reaction in which a single element decomposes or slpits to form 2 or more substances.

It is of 3 types:-

1. Thermal decompostion:- The decomposition which takes place in the presence of heat is known as thermal decomposition.

2. Electrolysis:- The decompsotion which takes place when electricity is passed in water is known as electrolysis

3. Photo chemical reaction:- The decomposition takes place in the presence of light is known as photo chemical reaction.
