✔Formation of biological membranes.
For this there should be a lipid synthesis in the agranular reticulum and protein biosynthesis in the rough surfaced endoplasmic reticulum.
✔These two major components are arrayed giving rise to the membrane.
✔ With respect to the formation of plasma membrane, Golgi complex also comes into play as it have to produce the overcoat.
✔In other words, it has to add carbohydrate moiety to the protein already formed in the RER.

The origin of microorganisms was a major debate following their discovery in the 1670s by Antoni van Leeuwenhoek. It wasn't until the 1850s to 1860s, nearly 200 years later, that scientists came up with the theory that all living organisms have to come from other living organisms. This theory is called biogenesis because biomeans 'life' and genesis means 'beginning.
