DENTAL PLAQUE :Dental plaque is a biofilm or mass of bacteria that grows on surfaces within the mouth . it is sticky forms TARTAR, often in brown or pale yellow colour present between the teeth.

CAUSE : Bacteria that live in the mouth thrive on foods and produce acids . Over a period of time, these acids destroy tooth enamel, resulting in tooth decay. Plaque can also develop on the tooth roots under the gum and cause breakdown of the bone supporting the tooth.

PREVENTION :

1.brush your teeth at least twice a day with a soft, rounded-tip bristled toothbrush. 

2.Use a fluoride-containing toothpaste.

3.Eat a balanced diet and limit the number of between-meal snacks.
