The solution of this is x+y=13.

shraddha41: how?
rayeessunday: x^2/a^2 + y^2/b^2 = 26
rayeessunday: 2x/2a+2y/2b=26
rayeessunday: (2x*2b+2y*2a)/2a*2b=26
rayeessunday: (2(xb)+2(a*y))/2(ab)=26
rayeessunday: solve this and the answer is
rayeessunday: x+y=13
shraddha41: thanks
rayeessunday: never mind

diff. w.r.t.'x…2x/a^2+2y/b^2dy/dx=0
2y/b^2dy/dx= -2x/a^2
dy/dx=-2x/a^2.b^2/2y
