According to World
Health Organization, the maximum desirable limit of fluoride in drinking water
is 1.0 ppm while the highest permissible limit is 1.5 ppm. Very high
concentrations can cause skeletal fluorosis and dental fluorosis. Low fluoride concentration
of nearly 0.5 ppm helps in preventing teeth from getting affected by dental
caries.
