Dielectric, insulating material or a very poor conductor of electric current. When dielectrics are placed in an electric field, practically no current flows in them because, unlike metals, they have no loosely bound, or free, electrons that may drift through thematerial. Instead, electric polarization occurs.

hey dear

here is your answer

About dielectric substance

1) The term insulator generally used to indicate electrical obstruction .

2) While the term dielectric is used to indicate the storage capacity of material ( by means of polarisation)

3) A common example using dielectric is the electrically insulating material between the metallic plates of capacitor

it is known as dielectric substance

hope it helps

thank you
