what is difference between a complete parasite and a partial parasite ? give examples of each.

Dendropthoe falcata, Viscum album, Santalum album etc. are the examples of partial parasites. Total parasitic plants depend completely on other living plants(host plants). Partial parasitic plants have chrophyll which help them to produce organic substances they require.

complete parasites are those parasites who draw both water and minerals by sending it's houstorial roots into both xylem and phloem
examples are CUSCUTA,RAFFLESIA
partial parasites are those parasites which draw only water from the xylem..
example are STRIGA,VISCUM
