What is difference between acute and chronic disease

Acute disease
1) They are short term diseases. These diseases do not last for a long time.
2) Examples : common cold , fever etc

Chronic diseases :
1) These are long term diseases. And may last for a very long time.
2) Example : Thyphoid , jaundice etc.
