artery generally carry oxygenated blood except pulmonary .veins carry deoxygenated blood except pulmonary vein .

Arteries and veins both are vessels which carry blood in our body.

The difference between them is that arteries carry oxygenated blood from the heart to the other different parts of our body, where as, veins carry deoxygenated blood from the different parts of our body back to the heart.
