what is difference between congruent and equal to

A figure is a set of points in the plane joined together.The dimensions of congruent figures are same, in other word they are of same shape and size located at different points in a plane. However, for the figures to be equal they should have the same points in the plane. Hence, two equal figures are exactly the same figure.
