What is difference between knowledge and opinion according to plato?

Plato distinguished between knowledge (episteme) and opinion (doxa). This distinction is closely related to Plato's Theory of Forms. So to give you an example: "Basketballs are round". According to the Theory of Forms, then basketballs are not round, they are merely participating in the form of 'Roundness'.
