Ph.D. Qualifying Exam Guidelines. The Ph.D. Qualifying Exam is the first in the series of three Ph.D exams and is followed by the preliminary exam (dissertation proposal) and final oral exam (completion of degree).
Qualifying degree is the degree which is required to get admission to IIT. In your case it would be B.Sc. If you have done B.Sc. Chemistry, the discipline of your qualifying degree is Chemistry.
