Difference between ribosomes and lysosomes:

Ribosomes

  • It is a membrane bound cell organelle.
  • Size: 20-30 nm
  • It is segmented into two sub units.
  • It is involved in protein synthesis.
  • It is called “Protein factory” of the cell.

Lysosomes

  • It is a non-membrane bound cell organelle.
  • Size: 0.1-1.2 μm
  • It is one single organelle. No sub units are present.
  • It is involved in intracellular digestion.
  • It is called “suicidal bag “ of the cell.
