1.theanimals eat dead animals or carrion. They are called scavengers.
2.They help break down or reduce organic material into smaller pieces.
3.These smaller pieces are then eaten by decomposers.

scavenger- they feed on dead plants and carcass of animals .they help to keep the earth's surface clean examples are crow , vultures, etc

decomposer are are microorganisms that break down complex organic substances into simple organic substances. they convert the dead and decaying plant and animal remains into humas.they feed on the remains left by the scavengers . they too help to keep the forest surface clean
