What is difference between thalasemia and sickle cell anemia??

Thalassaemia….. normally there is balanced 1:1 of alpha and beta chains in thalassaemia there is imbalance in globin chain leading to precipitation of globin chains within the RBCs leading to haemolysis

Sickle cell anaemia ….there is Hb s resulting from a single base mutation of adenine to thiamine resulting in Hb SS Hb AS common in Africa Middle East India south Europe there will be short life of RBCs

thalasemia is the disease in which oxygen cant be recieved properly by haemoglobin and anaemia is the reproduction of immature and abnormal white blood cells
