Power sharing can take different forms in a democracy. They are:
*Vertical power sharing-Power is shared between the different organs of the govt. namely the legislature, exicutive and the judiciary.
*Horizontal power sharing-In this type, power is shared between the different tiers of the govt. namely the central, state and local govt.
*Power shared between different social groups

Power sharing can take place :
1.between different levels or tiers of govt(vertical)
2. between different organs of govt(horizontal). each organ checks the other for balance of power among various institutions
3. between different social grps and communities like community govt in belgium. (religious and language grps)
4.power sharing can be seen in the way pol. parties , pressure grps and movement control and influence those in power
