Discrimination means treating someone unequally. Generally, Discrimination occurs between the high castes and the lower castes. The people from the high caste do not prefer to eat in the plates or drink in the cup used by the lower castes. Discrimination was also practised in the British empire in South Africa known as 'Apartheid'. In that time , the black people were not considered equal to the whites. Discrimination was also practised in Harshavardhana's period. In that time ,if an untouchable came in the city , he had to strike the stick to gain people's attention and the people understood that he was an untouchable and they do not touched him and do not talked to him.

Hope it helps you
