Pumice stone is gas in solid type colloid in which dispersion phase is gas and dispersion medium is solid. Pumice is created when super-heated, highly pressurized rock is violently ejected from a volcano. The unusual foamy configuration of pumice happens because of simultaneous rapid cooling and rapid depressurization.

Dispersed phase is solute and dispersion medium is solvent. When hair cream (dispersed phase) is dissolved in water (dispersion medium) it don't completely dissolve in it and form a solution which is known as colloidal solution. the particles of colloid can pass through filter paper during filtration.
