Dispersion :

The phenomenon of splitting of white light into it's constituent colours after passing through a prism. A band of seven colours is obtained is called Dispersion of light.

Red colour has higher wavelength. Due to this it bends less also scattered less. Violet colour has less wavelength. Due to this it bends the most and scattered easily by dust particles etc.

What is prism?

=> It is a transparent medium bounded by two plane faces which are inclined to each other at an angle. And the angle between them is called refracting angle and angle of prism (A).
