The reaction in which two compound reacts and the less reactive metal gets displaced is called displacement reaction.
Example:Fe+CuSo₄---->Cu+FeSo₄
The above reaction is called single displacement reaction.
There are two types of displacement reaction.One is single displacement the other is double displacement.
Example:Pb(No₃)₂+KI--------->PbI₂+2KNo₃.
The above example is double displacement reaction.
