the reaction in which highly reactive elements take place of less reactive elements and displaces it from it's compound is called displacement reaction .

For displacement reaction the elements should be more reactive then the elements in the compound.

Na +H2SO4---NaSO4+H2

here highly reactive element Na replaces hydrogen from it's compund and form sodium sulphate

hope it helps you dude.

Answer:

What is displacement reaction?

A single-displacement reaction, is a chemical reaction in which one element replaces an/other element in a compound. It can be represented generically as: A + B-C → A-C + B This will most often occur if A is more reactive than B, thus giving a more stable product.

which rule governs displacement of an element in a compound by another element?

Single displacement reaction rule

give one example of each ?

For example, iron is more reactive element than copper. If a piece of iron is added to a solution of copper sulphate, iron sulphate is formed
