it is double process of evaporation followed by condensation. Miscible liquid like kerosene and water can be separated by distillation .

Know More :-

Application of simple distillation :-

  • two miscible liquids that boil without decomposition and have sufficient difference in their boiling point can be separated by simple distillation.

  • a solution containing a volatile component and a non volatile component can also be separated by this method

Fractional distillation :- it is a process in which facts knitting column is used which give the effect of repeated distillation . it is used to separate a mixture of two or more miscible liquid for which the difference in boiling point is less than 25 °C .

Fractionating column :- it is a tube packed with glass beads . debate provide surface for vapour to cool and condense , therefore it gives the effect of repeated distillation .

Miscible liquids :- liquid which mix with each other
