Double displacement reaction:The reaction in which the different atoms or group of atoms are displaced by other atoms or group of atoms, i.e.two compounds exchange their ions and one of the products formed is insoluble, are said to be double displacement reactions. For example: Na2SO4 + BaCl2 = BaSO4 + 2NaCl.
