Drip irrigation is a method of controlled irrigation in which water is slowly delivered to the root system of multiple plants. In this method water is either dripped onto the soil surface above the roots, or directly to the root zone.

This system is used for irrigation. In this system water falls drop by drop at the position of the root.It is an economically method as water is not waste at all. Drip irrigation gives water directly to the root zone of plants at a slow rate so that it can be absorbed by the soil with out any runoff. It minimise the use of water in agriculture.

Hope it helps
