⏩Effervescence is the term given to a bubbling of a liquid, due to evolution of a gas, as a result of chemical reaction.
OR
Effervescence is the escape of gas from a solution, which appears in the form of bubbles.
⏩For example=>(i)When a cold drink bottle is opened, the CO2 gas fizzes out.
(ii)When Sodium carbonate(Na2CO3) reacts with dil.HCl, CO2 gas is released and produces effervescence in the reaction mixture.
Na2CO3(s)+2HCl(aq) ----> 2NaCl(aq)+CO2(g)+HCl(l)
